Looking for a quick and easy appetizer? This sauce is VERY versatile. We made the sauce, then stirred in some sliced sausages and heated it thoroughly for a recent party. You can also add mini meatballs. For dinner, you could saute a variety of root vegetables – sweet potatoes, carrots, celery, etc. then add a little of this sauce for a little different flavor.

Cranberry Sweet-Sour Sauce

1 cup cranberry sauce (either whole cranberry or jellied)*

1 cup cocktail sauce (that red sauce for seafood that’s found near the catsup in your local supermarket)

10-16 oz sliced cooked sausage or mini meatballs

In a medium saucepan on medium heat, combine the 2 sauces. Stir in the cooked sausage slices or mini meatballs. Heat thoroughly and serve.

(We often put the heated sauce and meat into a small crockpot for serving at a party. Great with some small food picks alongside for easy eating.)
