Last week, Nutrition by Nancy was interviewed on Sacramento’s Fox40 Live.

Topic – 9 Sun-Protective Foods.

The foods below were recommended in an article published by Fox, so the local station invited Nutrition by Nancy on air to discuss the foods and why they provide protection. The foods are: 1) Colored Peppers; 2) Yellow summer squash (Personallly, we don’t think that’s a great choice and would have substituted dark leafy greens.); 3) Tomatoes; 4) Watermelon; 5) Green Tea; 6) Dark Chocolate (should be over 60% cacao); 7) Dark Berries (like blueberries and blackberries); 8) Turmeric spice; and 9) Fin fish (like salmon, bass, and trout).

These foods are especially important for the high levels of antioxidants and protective phytochemicals they supply. The fish is high in Omega 3 fatty acids to help protect cells from oxidative damage.

Although the interview was originally broadcast in Sacramento, it’s been picked up and broadcast by other stations all across the country! Among the areas showing this video are Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, . . . and the list goes on!
